DIAL 911 FOR EMERGENCIES
Located in the eastern (downtown) part of town, the No. 1 Fire Company is one of two fire stations in the Borough of Huntingdon. Together we comprise the Huntingdon Fire Department. The Department got its start in 1801, when the Borough Fathers(Council) ordered ladders, hooks and buckets be kept at the town square for use in case of outbreak of fire. In 1804, the Juniata Fire Company organized and purchased a hand-drawn, hand pumper, designated "The Juniata". This "engine" is still owned by No. 1, and is on display at the Pennsylvania Fire Museum in Harrisburg. In 1873, the Juniata Fire Company re-organized and chartered as the Huntingdon No. 1 Fire Company. Our station is responsible for Engine and Rescue response in Huntingdon Borough and part of Henderson Township.
